The 'FIFA' video game returns via Netflix

The streaming platform has acquired the official license from the Federation and will develop a game for the 2026 World Cup.

It will be a football simulator similar to the historic title and will be available for mobile phones through the Netflix app, meaning only the platform's subscribers will be able to play it.

The company Delphi Interactive, specializing in the creation of "AAA" games produced with high-complexity graphics and storylines, will also participate as a developer.

This milestone marks the return of the FIFA license to a football video game. For 30 years, Electronic Arts held the exclusivity of the name until 2023, when it rebranded the game as EA Sports FC.
