AFA announced the creation of the Argentine Football University

“UnAFA” will be the first higher education institution dedicated to football in Latin America.

It will be aimed at players, coaches, referees, managers, club employees, and various sports professionals, with the goal of providing education, inclusion, and growth opportunities.

It will offer degree programs such as: Sports Management and Economics; Sports Administration, Law, and Governance; Sports Medicine and Psychology; and Sports Communication, Branding, and Marketing — all with various integrated diploma options.

The main campus of UnAFA will be located in downtown Buenos Aires, although it will also carry out activities at the Lionel Messi Complex in Ezeiza.

The director will be former UBA rector Alberto Barbieri, who explained during the opening conference:
“We will sign agreements with leading universities to conduct joint scientific research and remain connected with the world of football clubs to understand their needs and development contexts.”
