Visa becomes official sponsor of River Plate
El Millonario announced a multi-year partnership with the payment processing giant, coming months after rival Mastercard struck a similar deal with Boca Juniors.
Under a long-term agreement running through 2031, Visa will offer exclusive fan benefits, premium hospitality packages, brand integration, and payment technology solutions across the club's facilities.
According to club beat reporters and local media, the contract will yield River Plate $10 million USD per year before taxes.
The deal escalates the Superclásico rivalry into the financial services sector, mirroring global sports marketing battles such as the UEFA Champions League (Mastercard) versus the FIFA World Cup (Visa).
