The Phenomenon of Stadium Naming Sponsors Around the World

Everton FC announced that its new venue will be called Hill Dickinson Stadium through a partnership with the law firm, and at Marca en Zona we take a look at how many similar cases exist in the top leagues.

In Argentina, only River Plate has a naming deal for its stadium, the Mâs Monumental, through an agreement with the ChangoMâs supermarket chain that has been in place since 2022.

In Brazil’s first division, five clubs have this type of sponsorship: Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo, Bahia, and Atlético Mineiro.

In both Serie A and LALIGA, five stadiums feature naming rights, with notable examples including FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou, Atlético de Madrid’s Riyadh Air Metropolitano, and Juventus’ Allianz Stadium.

In the Premier League, Everton will be the sixth team with such a deal, following Arsenal FC, Manchester City, Brighton, Bournemouth, and Leicester City.

The Bundesliga is the league where stadium naming rights are most common—almost 80% of clubs (14 out of 18) have a sponsorship that includes the name of their stadium.
