The 2025 Club World Cup and 2026 World Cup will contribute $62 billion to global GDP

FIFA published two studies on the estimated economic impact of both tournaments in collaboration with the World Trade Organization (WTO).

As the largest editions in the history of each tournament, the figures generated could reach record-breaking levels.

The 2025 Club World Cup is expected to attract 3.7 million spectators, generating $17.1 billion in gross output and contributing $21.1 billion to global GDP. It will also create around 105,000 jobs in the United States.

The 2026 World Cup, to be hosted in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, will see an estimated attendance of 6.5 million people. Its projected economic impact includes $30 billion in gross output and a $40.9 billion boost to global GDP. It is also expected to create 824,000 jobs worldwide, with 185,000 of them in the United States.
