River Plate's contract with Betano wouldn't even make the top 10 most expensive in the Brazilian league
The "Millionaire" changed its main sponsor, and it was revealed that the deal is worth $6 million annually—a much lower figure compared to those in the neighboring country.
There are 14 Brazilian first-division clubs with sponsors paying more than Betano does to River per year: Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Vasco, Atlético Mineiro, Botafogo, Fluminense, São Paulo, Santos, Grêmio, Internacional, Cruzeiro, Bahia, and Sport Recife. All of them have partnerships with betting companies.
River Plate's contract, the second most important in Argentina behind Betsson's deal with Boca Juniors, only surpasses Fortaleza, Vitória, Ceará, Juventude, Mirassol, and Red Bull Bragantino in the Brasileirão.
