Manchester United unveiled the project for its new stadium
It will be the “Wembley of the North”, a state-of-the-art stadium with a capacity of 100,000 spectators and an estimated cost of €2 billion.
The club expects the new venue to be ready within the next five years, while the team will continue playing at Old Trafford until construction is completed.
An important fact to consider: the Red Devils have played at Old Trafford for 114 years, since its inauguration in 1910.
With this capacity, it would be one of the largest stadiums in the world, surpassing Wembley (90,000) and the new Santiago Bernabéu (85,000), while only trailing the renovated Camp Nou (105,000).
