First 3D-printed boots make debut in MLS match
Adidas debuted its innovative RAP project on the feet of Philadelphia Union player Cavan Sullivan.
RAP stands for "Radical Athlete Perception" and was launched in March as a mega-project exploring new technologies across various sports, including athletics and basketball.
The first 100% 3D-printed boots were unveiled in April and tested by several Adidas athletes during training sessions. Each player received a boot specifically engineered to fit the exact contours of their feet.
Sullivan wore them in the match against the New York Red Bulls, setting a historic precedent in football boot technology within a highly competitive marketplace.
