Deportivo LSM, Uruguay's "third giant" on Instagram
Just 48 hours after it was announced that the club founded by Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi will compete in the fourth division, it gained nearly half a million followers on the social network.
This number makes it the third team in the country with the most followers, only behind Nacional and Peñarol. It sits far above clubs like Defensor Sporting (58k) or Danubio (54k).
Compared to Argentine clubs, it has more followers than Vélez Sarsfield, Estudiantes de La Plata, and Huracán, among others.
